    Diary of a Huntsman was first published in 1838, this volume includes most of the criticism by Nimrod of that volume in the introduction "because it seemed more interesting to listen to the observations of a contrmporary writer".

The Life of a Fox, by Himself was first published in 1843.  "Advertisement to the Original Edition. This little book may be looked upon as a curious manifestion of the movement among Foxes. The Editor ventures to send it forth, for an agreeable reminiscence to many who assised in scenes which it describes; for some little instruction to sportsmen who had have less experinece than himself; and for the common entertainment of all who like to listen to the way of the world in the woods."
    Book is 304 pages, includes several colored plates by G. H. Jalland along with B&W drawings by the author. Top edge of pages gilt, side and bottom edges uncut. Binding and spine tight. Tissue facing/protecting all colored prints.
