Dan Russell', Gerald
Jones, was a Fleet Street journalist and terrier afficianado. This is a
very readable little book in which he describes all sorts of terrier
work as well as following various side-alleys such as the plausibility
of fox-dog crosses - examples of which he discovers. A good read.
Chapters include, buying and trying; bringing up the young entry;
digging out foxes; badger digging; badger hunting at night; hunting the
otter; ratting; stoats, moorhens and rabbits; odd things that happen;
the fox-dog cross; the breeds of working terrier.
Book is in very good condition, small mark on lower corner front cover
and small tear in fabric at top where cover meets spine.
