From the Introduction: The Chace was first published in 1832, and gives "the famous description of an ideal run with the Quorn under Mr. Osbaldston's mastership." The Road appeared the same year. The present volume of "The Sportsmen's Classics is a careful reprint of these two papers which have become English Sporting Classics" Leather binding on spine is worn and dried but you can still make out some of the gilt lettering. Front cover binding to spine is dried and all but gone. Back cover binding is tight as is the rest of the book. Two inscriptions inside cover, J. G. Benton from J.A. V, 1908 and With all best Wishes ..... from R. Farrell 1946.   Inside cover shows some discoloration, looks like a piece of paper was the cause, pages are in very good condition otherwise, no foxing just slight age tinting. 161 pages.
